On September 14, 2025, SCIDA successfully conducted a day-long capacity-building training for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in partnership with the Nimba County Health Team (NCHT). This milestone marks a key step in the rollout of SCIDA’s Child Health Campaign (CHC), a community-driven initiative focused on improving the health and well-being of children under five across Liberia.
- The training equipped CHVs with practical knowledge and tools to address child health challenges, including:
- Nutritional screening techniques and tools
- Identification and response to common child health issues
Community mobilization strategies to increase awareness and participation
The CHC program is designed to deliver critical health interventions, namely Vitamin A supplementation and deworming tablets, to children under five, while fostering long-term community engagement around child health.

Pilot Phase and Expansion Plans
The pilot phase of the campaign is currently targeting 3,000 children in the Meinpea-Mahn, Bain-Garr, and Sanniquellie districts. Building on this foundation, SCIDA aims to scale the initiative to reach an additional 30,000 children across Nimba County, ensuring broader access to life-saving health services.
Powered by Strategic Collaboration
This initiative is made possible through a dynamic partnership with Dimagi, a global social enterprise renowned for its digital solutions that support frontline workers in underserved communities. Dimagi’s expertise in scalable technology and field-based implementation is helping CHVs collect data, monitor progress, and deliver services more effectively.
